Overview
VIDERO Player is a modern Mac OS X application exclusively for playing digital media content in public places or at the point of sale. It works in conjunction with the VIDERO Server and the VIDERO Composer. The Player is highly optimized for efficient playback and stability just as it offers versatile features to help in monitoring and administration.
Normally, the Player is connected to a LCD Flat Screen or built into special casing - so it blends with the surroundings - and is responsible for the playback of informational, entertainment or advertising content. Examples of such contents are advertising videos, informational pictures or current news.
In a typical situation, a business puts multiple VIDERO Players in point of sale situations (e.g. one in SF, one in LA, one in NY, etc). Every player is (via network) connected to a VIDERO Server. The server takes care of monitoring the state of the players (temperature, load, available memory, etc).
If a media designer decides to create new content for all (or some) of the players, he uses the VIDERO Composer to create and test-drive the new content. Then, he distributes the content to the VIDERO Server. The VIDERO Server publishes this content to all connected players and starts playing it.
